Baylor Environmental Science Department, Family and Consumer Sciences and Community Engagement and Services were instrumental in the development and advisement of the Baylor Community Garden located at 9th and James near the Baylor campus. Campus and community partners are committed to relieving and ending local hunger through community urban gardens. A special focus has been placed on sustainable water-use technologies as sustainable technologies are being designed and tested by students at this site. Results produced will provide new interactive educational opportunities to train and assist other organizations with community gardens. Baylor’s Campus Kitchen Project maintains and harvests crops that help provide food for the hungry in Waco and surrounding areas.
