Environmental & Human Health
If you seek a place to evaluate the ways in which human interactions with our environment influences both environmental systems and human health, Baylor University is the place for you. At Baylor, we determine the ways in which anthropogenic chemicals or activities adversely affect humans and the broader environment. We also have an increasing interest to better understand influences that the environment has on Public Health.
Baylor Environmental Science marshals our significant expertise in environmental chemistry, ecology, toxicology, and public health to address many aspects of environmental toxicology, including ecotoxicology, aquatic toxicology, inhalational toxicology, and risk assessment. Well-designed ecosystem or human health risk assessments require problem formulation, exposure assessment, and effects assessment. To expedite and refine inputs for risk assessments, we employ cutting edge instrumental techniques to develop bioassays and to determine biotransformation pathways.
