Human Health Risk Assessment

Human Health Risk Assessment is the process to estimate the nature and probability of adverse health effects in humans who may be exposed to chemicals in contaminated environmental media, now or in the future.  Research in our department focuses on improving human health risk assessment by improving toxicity estimates for chemicals of concern, estimating toxicity of new or potential future chemical exposures, evaluating exposure scenarios and estimating fate and transport of chemicals through the environment that could impact human health.
