The Elizabeth L. and Russell F. Hallberg Endowed Scholarship in Journalism and Environmental Studies

The Hallberg Foundation was created by the will of Russell F Hallberg, who died in 1986. Mr. and Mrs. Hallberg were Swedish and lived for years in Fort Worth, Texas. Mrs. Hallberg died in 1987. They were Baptists and at the time of their deaths were members of Sagamore Hill Baptist Church in Fort Worth. The Hallbergs had no children but several of their grand nieces and nephews attended and graduated from Baylor University.

This scholarship is for students with a major in either Journalism or Environmental Studies with preference given to students who are graduates of a Texas high school.

No minimum grade point average shall be required, nor shall a determination of merit be based primarily on a grade point average. Additionally, financial need shall not be a primary consideration in awarding each scholarship.
