Toxicology
Our researchers are engaging a broad spectrum of toxicology studies which address the nature, effects, and detection of poisons. The central tenant of toxicology being “the dose makes the poison” allows multiple opportunities for evaluation of various adverse effects that can be associated with exposure to chemicals, substances, and particles found in the environment. These effects may be manifested within environmental receptor or in humans. Research in our department examines mechanisms, toxicity, dose, properties, and detection of compounds causing systemic effects in the environment and the human body.
