The Tony and Donna Robert Endowed Scholarship Fund
The Tony and Donna Robert Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 2003 by Tony and Donna Robert of Houston.
It is an expression of the Roberts' desire to assist qualified students attending Baylor University, based on their long-standing commitment to the University. Anthony (Tony) Robert graduated from Baylor in 1961 with a B.A. in History. Since that time, he and his wife Donna (an alumna by choice) have attempted in many ways to show their love for the University. This endowment enables them to make a permanent and meaningful contribution. An important factor in setting up this scholarship was the desire to make a statement of their philosophy as to the importance of taking steps to protect the environment.
The following excerpt from a statement by the great Indian Chief, Seattle, in 1854 best expresses their feelings:
The earth does not belong to man;
Man belongs to the earth.
All things are connected.
Whatever befalls the earth befalls the sons of the earth.
Man did not weave the web of life, he is merely a strand in it.
Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself.
