Mackenzie Ramirez
Doctoral Student - Dr. Usenko
Environmental Science

Mackenzie's research focuses on tracking the influence of wildfires on urban air quality in Texas. This involves measuring real-time aerosol optical properties and conducting offline filter analysis as part of the Black and Brown Carbon (BC2) aerosol optical network, funded by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. This work contributes insights into scientific air quality questions of frequency, seasonality, and optical properties of biomass burning plumes within an urban context.
